Little Penguin Cup is a surf and skate art community project run by Australian surf artist Henry Jock Walker, to take place in September at three locations in Japan’s Kanto area.
In each location, there will be a range of creative activities aimed to attract, interact and engage with a wide range of participants.
There will be experimental team processes during the workshop, which will be tailored for Japanese audiences. The impact of this ephemeral happening will be ongoing cultural exchange, learning, play and creation through the mediums of surfing, painting and performance.

September 3-15
Olympic Training – Katakai, Chiba
Two week residency in Y+R Cafe/Surf Shop/skatepark
Mural painting, the creation of creative surfboards and print wetsuits and clothes, Tarp surfing, surfing painting and Interactive live studio, at the Olympic site: Tsurigasaki Beach, Ichynomiya.
September 15- 22
The Temple Onjuku, Chiba
A week residency at Dharma (Honda Sound Works)/Saimyoue
Temple/youth hub in Onjuku.
To include concluding event of the whole Chiba journey with live music, performance and a screening of documentation footage.
