Innovation in life sciences research and development is important for both Australia and Japan. Collaboration between the two countries is increasing, and joint research and partnership opportunities in this area in particular are expected to grow. In October 2017 Australia’s life sciences organization – AusBiotech – and Japan’s regenerative medicine industry peak body, FIRM (Forum for Innovative Regenerative Medicine) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration.
BioJapan will celebrate its 20th conference in 2018, and it has been a critical platform for industry and academic experts in the drug discovery, personalized medicine, regenerative medicine, diagnostics, medical devices and related sectors. Last year, BioJapan had 900+ exhibitors and attracted 15,000+ visitors to the conference which is regarded as the biggest international conference in this field in Asia. Austrade will exhibit and participate in BioJapan 2018 from 10-12 October to showcase and promote Australian Life Sciences capability and Australia’s high quality research infrastructure, and the sophistication of the industry to the Japanese and international audience.
The project aims to enhance further collaboration between the Australian and Japanese life sciences and medical research communities.
A seminar titled “Australian Life Sciences – Engaging with the World ” will also be held at the venue on 12 October. Speakers representing Australia will take the stage to brief participants on the intricacies and investment opportunities of Australia’s life sciences industry. Listeners will also get a glimpse at Australia’s clinical testing environment, a subject commanding greater attention as of late.
We encourage all interested parties to stop by Booth C-46 or to attend the seminar.
