Enthusiastic audience for Australian Short Film Theatre in Roppongi, Powered by Flickerfest!

On Sunday 1 July, with perfect summer weather in central Tokyo, over 2,000 people enjoyed a very Australian afternoon of short films at the “Australian Short Film Theatre in Roppongi, Powered by Flickerfest”.

The Roppongi Hills Arena transformed into a mini Land Down Under filled with fun activities and a relaxed Australian atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed the films as well as a large range of Aussie beer, wine and softdrink and tasty foods.

Film fans including families, groups of friends and couples dropped by for a wonderful selection of Australian short-films, which appealed to the mix of Japanese and international audiences of all ages.

Australia now Goodwill Ambassador, actor Tetsuya Bessho, enthralled the audience with his talk show during the event. Mr Bessho spoke about his passion about the Japanese and Australian films.

Visiting Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, also came to the venue with the Australian Ambassador Richard Court AC and greeted the audience.

We were also excited to see Ms Sarah Àlainn, another Australia now Goodwill Ambassador, drop by to say hi!

Stay updated with the latest information on upcoming Australia now events, continuing to showcase the best of Australia to Japanese audiences!

Look forward to more fun events to come!
